Check back here regularly to find out what's going on at Church of England, Holy Trinity - Coalbrookdale, St Lawrence - Little Wenlock & St Luke - Ironbridge.
Holy Trinity is temporarily closed to visitors due to a health and safety issue regarding their magnificent Harrison & Harrison 3 manual pipe organ which is located close to the main doors of the church. An inspection revealed that the organ was leaning forward and was in danger of collapsing due to it's heavy pipes. Approximately 600 pipes have, therefore, been removed and laid down horizontally and vertically within the side pews with the intention of making safe the area which has now been roped off.
We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause to anyone who wishes to visit the church but hope you will understand the risk involved and request that you keep us in your prayers as we await further reports.
We shall, however, update the situation on this website but, should you wish to enquire later as to whether Holy Trinity is open, or closed, please call (01952) 433153.
Coalbrookdale's Holy Trinity church yard (at the far end) has undergone much needed work done by volunteers of the Severn Gorge Countryside Trust. Their hard work was greatly appreciated as this area had become overgrown. Many thanks to all who gave their time and energy to this enormous task. We look forward to having you back in the autumn.
